I'm so pleased to see a Skip Beat! cosplay, and of some of my favorite costumes, too!
I don't recall these outfits making an appearance in the color title pages (I could be mistaken) so I'm impressed by the color choices on top of everything else. Blue is the color of authority (police, military, etc.) and while the hues chosen are soft and light to bring out that ethereal, angelic beauty Kyoko is supposed to express, it still helps the impression that Kyoko is the dominant angel here. Mimori being dressed in babyish, girlish pink and having lighter hair is perfect and also adds to the impression, as does their respective poses and the way Kyoko's costume is billowing out and encircling Mimori. Even the expressions are perfect for the idea, with Kyoko serene and confident and Mimori looking a bit plaintive and uncertain with her smaller smile and uplifted eyebrows. It makes me think so strongly of the scene where Shou's manager notes that Kyoko has "captured" or "captivated" Mimori.
The wigs are very neatly arranged and the costumes so nicely ironed! It's really "manga-perfect" and it's so nice not to be distracted by little messy realisms intruding on a scene. I could have perhaps wished for more feathers scattered about and the ruffle of Kyoko's sleeve to be fuller for a more manga-ish fancy feeling, and for that stray section of her wig to fall in with the other waving ends, but those are very minor and just little fussings on my part.
I like how Mimori is the one receiving most of the backlighting, and the most shadow is coming from Kyoko's side, making me think of how the darkness wells up from Kyoko at the end of the music video that they are shooting. Ah, on second thought it's best that Mimori has most of the feathers...she remains the truly angelic one. It breaks up the negative space nicely too, and help keep the natural loop of the eyes (top right start and clockwise through the picture) going. The sweep of Kyoko's skirts help this too, and it's so easy to just keep staring and letting my eyes wander through the picture. So lovely~
